Anxiety can feel like a tightening — in the chest, in the breath, in the space around you. It can be isolating, exhausting, and hard to explain. When worries spiral and everyday moments feel heavy, therapy can offer a quiet place to pause, reflect, and begin again.
I’m Lisa Wastney, a person-centred counsellor offering online therapy across the UK. I work gently with anxiety, low mood, shame, guilt, grief, and relational difficulties — always with emotional safety at the core.
🌼 Understanding Anxiety and Its Impact
Anxiety is more than just feeling stressed. It can affect your thoughts, your body, your relationships — and your sense of self. You might notice:
Persistent worry or fear
Difficulty concentrating
Physical symptoms like a racing heart, shallow breath, or muscle tension
Avoiding situations that feel overwhelming
These experiences can be deeply personal and often misunderstood. Recognising their impact is a powerful first step
🌾 What Is Person-Centred Therapy
Person-centred therapy focuses on you as an individual, rather than on a diagnosis or set of symptoms. Developed by Carl Rogers, this approach believes that people have the inner resources to grow and heal when given the right environment.
Lisa Wastney creates a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard and valued. The therapy sessions are guided by your pace and needs, allowing you to explore your feelings and thoughts openly.
🌙 How Therapy Can Help with Anxiety
Building Trust and Emotional Safety
Together, we create a space where you can speak freely — without fear of judgment or pressure to “fix” things quickly
Gently Increasing Self-Understanding
Through reflection and attuned listening, we begin to notice patterns, beliefs, and emotional undercurrents that may be fuelling your anxiety.
Supporting Your Own Way Forward
Rather than offering advice, I support you in reconnecting with your own wisdom — building confidence, clarity, and self-trust
Providing Consistent Emotional Support
Regular sessions offer a steady anchor — a place to return to, especially when life feels uncertain or overwhelming.
🪟 What to Expect

🌸 Real-Life Shifts
Clients often describe feeling more grounded, more able to notice their needs, and less alone in their experience. One client shared how naming their anxiety in session helped them soften their inner critic. Another found that simply having a space to breathe and be — without needing to explain — brought unexpected relief.
