FAQ
Here you’ll find answers to some of the questions people often ask before starting counselling. If you don’t see what you need, you’re welcome to reach out — I’m happy to help. I offer counselling in Grimsby and online across the UK, so you can get in touch from wherever feels comfortable for you.
I'm a fully qualified, accredited counsellor with a First Class Honours degree in Counselling. I'm a Registered Member of the BACP and an Accredited Registrant with the NCPS. I work in a person-centred way and integrate ACT principles where helpful. You're welcome to ask about my training at any time.
Yes. I offer online counselling across the UK via Microsoft Teams. Many people choose this option for convenience, accessibility, or comfort. You're welcome to switch between online and in-person sessions if your needs change.
Yes. I offer in‑person sessions from central Grimsby. My therapy room is private, calm, and set up to help you feel grounded and comfortable.
I offer person-centred counselling which means our work is guided by your needs, your pace, and your experiences. I also draw on ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) where it supports your goals. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in genuine human connection.
Therapy offers a confidential, compassionate space to explore what’s weighing on you — whether it’s a recent challenge or something long‑held.
Counselling can support you with many experiences, including:
- Low mood or depression
- Grief and loss
- Shame and self‑criticism
- Relationship difficulties
- Boundaries and people‑pleasing
- Life transitions and identity shifts
- Trauma or nervous system responses (fight, flight, freeze, fawn, flop).
You don’t need a diagnosis or a crisis to begin. Therapy is for anyone seeking clarity, connection, or a gentler way forward. Many people come simply because they want space to reflect or understand themselves more deeply.
There's no set number of sessions. Some people come for a short period, others prefer longer-term work. We'll check in regularly so you can decide what feels right for you. You're always in control of the pace and duration.
Your first session is a gentle settling-in. We'll explore what's brought you here, what you're hoping for, and what you need to feel supported. There's no pressure to share everything at once - we go at your pace, and you choose what feels comfortable to talk about.
Yes. I offer a free introductory call. It's a no-pressure conversation where you can ask questions, get a feel for my approach, and decide whether therapy with me feels right. You can choose Teams or a phone call - just let me know your preference when you book.
Confidentiality is central to counselling. Everything you share is kept private, with a few legal and ethical exceptions that I'll explain clearly in our first session. I follow professional guidelines set by the BACP and NCPS to ensure your information is handled safely and respectfully.
A 50-minute counselling session is £45.
Payment details and options will be shared when you book. You're welcome to ask any questions about fees or frequency of sessions.
You can book your Let's Meet introductory call directly through my website by choosing a time that suits you. If you'd prefer to arrange it by email instead, that's absolutely fine - just get in touch and I'll be happy to help. If you feel ready, you can use the button below to book your free call.
